The responsibility for the profitable operation, management and marketing/sales of full facility hotels and senior housing facilities (retirement centre) which included the following:

• The evaluation and recommendations respecting operations

• The re-organization of operations to make them more profitable

• The initiating and implementing marketing/sales strategies and programs

• The initiating and implementing training programs and guidelines for management, sales and line employees

• The preparation and implementation of the following:

  • Pre-opening and yearly marketing plans and sales budgets

  • Pre-opening and yearly operating budgets

  • Hotel manuals (front office, housekeeping, sales, food and beverage, receiving, maintenance) including preventive maintenance for daily, monthly and yearly service requirements for equipment used

  • Employee handbooks

  • Procedure and policy manual

  • Planning and costing of food and beverage menus

• The preparation of business plans for new projects

• The preparation of budgets for construction, financing, and operating financing for new projects

• Member of team involved in the construction and start-up phase of hotels and retirement facilities

• Member of team involved in renovation and additions to existing hotels and retirement facilities

• The involvement in hospitality associations and government agencies respecting hotels and senior housing facilities

• Established corporate, government, legal, bank, associations and tour and travel contacts during my 25 years in the Hospitality Industry
